About Us

It's a short walk to El Rito Creek, just follow the arroyo down. The seasons shift the land from bursts of wildflowers to yellow grasses waving their seed gems. The dirt gives way to sandstone flats and walls worn with monsoon seasons past. The rock walls rise around you in a comforting hold. Waving cat tails and a bullfrog water plop welcomes you.
Originally from La Union, NM, in the 1980's Evangelina took a stained glass class in Odessa, TX. Due to the high quality of her work, the store offered her a job fulfilling contract orders that came in. Eventually, life took her to back to rural living in Santa Rosa, NM, her spouse's hometown. Her knowledge was passed to Sarah, her daughter. Both have experienced times in life where they have drawn away from their creative practices for extended periods.
Here we share the end of our process and invite you to take over.
Stained glass is its own experience. It is influenced by where it lives; if it's hung on a wall or window, direct or indirect light, time of day, and what a window looks out upon.
As the seasons shift along El Rito, so do the seasons of life. It might feel like a drought; we hope these pieces' act as wildflowers and grasses, joyful sites on your walk. It might feel so dry, but the monsoons are still carving the sandstone.
